Home & Enrolments
See your courses on Home, track your progress, and access course materials.
Last updated 22 Oct 2026
Home shows all the courses you're enrolled in. It is the first tab in the student portal. Your current enrolment sits at the top with its progress, what is left to do, and Start or Continue. Your other courses follow under In Progress, Ready to Start and Completed. Your next session and a link to your completion documents sit beside them on a wide screen, and below your current enrolment on a phone.
Access required
Sign in as the learner to see your own enrolments and assigned classes. Only resources and sessions offered to that enrolment are available.
Viewing your classes
When you log in, you'll see your current and past enrolments. Each class card shows:
- Course name: The qualification or training you're enrolled in
- Status: Active, Completed, or Withdrawn
- Progress: Percentage of the course you've completed
- Dates: When your training started and when it ends
- Course content: Modules and topics included in the course, with progress indicators
- Dependencies: For linear progression courses, locked items show which prerequisites must be completed first
Qualifications taught one unit at a time
Some RTOs teach a qualification one unit, or one group of units, at a time. You then see one card for the qualification, with its units listed in the order you do them. Each unit shows its own progress bar, a tick once it is finished, or Credited when your RTO has given you credit for it and you have no work to do.
Click a unit to open its lessons and tasks. Start or Continue on the card opens the next unit with work left, and Details opens the qualification's enrolment page.
Your results, payments and certificate belong to the qualification, not to each unit.
If you attend a unit's classes with other learners, the qualification's enrolment page has a Unit classes card. It lists each unit class with its dates and venue. Select See every class day in My Schedule for the full list of days.

Class details
For classroom-based classes, the enrolment detail page shows:
- Location: Venue name and full address
- Schedule: A table of all session dates and times
Units of competency
See all the units of competency included in your course:
- Unit code and name
- Completion status
- Assessment requirements
The unit count always reflects the units linked to your course, so a course whose outcomes have not been recorded yet shows something like 0 of 6 competent rather than no units at all.
If your course requires proof of previous certification, that requirement is a link: it takes you straight to the upload step, and offers Resubmit if an earlier upload was rejected. While a submission is waiting on review, the link is hidden.
Progress
Track your overall completion. For online courses, RTObase tracks two progress metrics:
- Course content progress: Based on completed lessons and assessments. This is the primary percentage shown on your class card.
- Unit completion: Based on your AVETMISS unit outcomes (Competent/Not Yet Competent), determined by your trainer's assessment marking.
For classroom-only courses, progress is based on unit completion only.
Note
The percentage on your class card is weighted: content accounts for 80% and pre-requisites (USI, identity verification, previous certification, third-party report and mandatory document reviews) account for 20%. If you've finished every lesson but still have an outstanding requirement, you'll see something like 95% (not 100%) to remind you there's one item left. Only Satisfactory assessment results count toward the content portion, an assessment that's still awaiting trainer review keeps progress below 100% until it's approved.
Required course documents
If your course has mandatory documents, its card and enrolment page link to a document checklist. Open each file or link, review it, then confirm you have reviewed it. Opening the document alone does not complete the review. Optional resources remain available without acknowledgement.
Required document reviews contribute to your course progress and must be complete before your enrolment can finish. A confirmation recorded by your RTO is identified separately from your own review.
Outstanding forms
Your RTO may ask you to complete a form, a declaration, a survey, workplace feedback, or similar. These are separate from assessments: they aren't marked, but some of them must be completed before your certificate can be issued.
While a form is waiting on you, a badge appears in your portal so it's easy to spot, and RTObase emails you a reminder. Open the form from your enrolment, complete it, and submit, your trainer reviews it and accepts it.
Note
If a form gates completion, your certificate can't be issued until it has been accepted. If you've finished all your training but nothing has arrived, an outstanding form is a good first thing to check.
Accessing online content
If your course includes online learning:
- Click on your class
- Click Access Course or Continue Learning
- You'll be taken to the course player
See Course Player for how to navigate online content.
Downloading materials
Your training provider can share files and links for the whole course, such as a resource guide or a drill sheet. You see them under Course resources on your course card on Home, and in the Course Resources card on your enrolment page. Some include a short description under the title. Click a file to download it, or a link to open it.
Topics in the course player can have their own resources too. Open a topic and click the Notes button. If the topic has resources, the button shows a count badge. The panel lists Resources for this topic and Course resources.
If your enrolment is withdrawn, deferred or archived, or the course is not available where you live, you do not see the course resources.
See Course Player for details.
