Course resources
A course's Resources tab lists files and links that every learner in the course sees in their student portal. Use it for a resource guide, a drill sheet or a pre-reading link. It works for any course, including in-person courses with no online learning.
Topic resources are different. They belong to one topic in the course player. Course resources show on every page.
Adding resources
Open the course
Click Add resources
The picker lists your Content Library. Search, or filter by folder or type, and click Add next to each item you want.
Or add something new
Use the Add link or Upload file tab in the same picker. The new item goes into the Content Library and onto the course in one step.
Admins and staff can add and remove resources. An archived course's list is read only.
Files live in the Content Library, so one file can be on many courses and lessons. Each row shows the resource's visibility badge.
Descriptions
Every library resource can have an optional description of up to 500 characters, such as "Read sections 1 to 3 before your first session." Learners see it under the title wherever the resource appears, including course resources, topic resources and Online Lesson pages. Set it when you upload a file or save a link, or later from Edit details in the Content Library.
What learners see
Learners see course resources in three places in the student portal:
- The Course resources list on the course card in My Classes
- The Course Resources card on the enrolment page
- The Resources & Notes panel in the course player, under Course resources
Files download and links open in a new tab.
Some learners do not see the course's resources:
- Learners whose enrolment is withdrawn, deferred or archived
- Learners the course's location restriction blocks
Their files do not download either.
Removing a resource
Click the remove button on the resource's row and confirm. Learners stop seeing it. The file stays in the Content Library.
Note
A file on a course that has learners cannot be deleted from the library, and its file cannot be replaced. Remove it from the course first.
Creating a replacement course or duplicating a course copies its resources.
