Regulatory News

Verified national VET regulatory changes, assessed against your RTO's registration and funding arrangements.

Last updated 19 Oct 2026

The Regulatory News page keeps you across verified changes to national VET rules and translates each one into what it means for your RTO specifically. Open it from Regulatory News in the sidebar; a New badge appears there whenever an update you have not seen yet is published.

Only reviewed, substantive updates appear in the feed. Observations, page-layout changes on authority websites, and unverified drafts are excluded, so anything you see here is worth reading.

What each update shows

Read the classification and status badges

Each update carries a classification badge (for example, a substantive change) and a status badge showing how it lands for your organisation: whether action is required, a review is recommended, or the change introduces no new requirement for you.

Check the assessment for your RTO

The "For your organisation" section explains why the update does or does not apply to you, using facts from your own setup such as your plan, AVETMISS registration details, funded VET setting, active funding contracts, and CRICOS setup. Relevant updates also count affected active course mappings.

Action it where the work lives

When an update calls for changes in RTObase, a "Where to action this" list links straight to the relevant settings or records. These links are available to administrators; other roles see the assessment but cannot open the actioning pages.

Confirm against the authority source

Every update links to the original regulator or authority publication. Use it to confirm the obligations that apply to your registration and funding arrangements before making changes.

Note

The assessment reflects your organisation's current settings. If your funded VET reporting setting, funding contracts or CRICOS course mappings change, revisit the feed: the status badges and recommended actions update to match.

Warning

Regulatory News summarises and signposts changes; it is not legal or compliance advice. The linked authority source is always the definitive statement of your obligations.
